It is almost Christmas. I can not believe we are 2 1/2 weeks from second semester! As I am sitting here writing this I am waiting to hear if I got a book keeping position with the Jr.High. They said they would know by Friday (today) and call either way but it is after 5 and I haven't heard a thing so I am hoping that things got crazy, they haven't decided yet or they have a really sick sense of humor and wanted to see how long I would wait before I called them.... (I called at 5pm but the answering service was on already)!
The past few months have been busy, hectic, hair raising and more. We had our first movie night at the Kindergarten..... not so good. Tim and I were both sick for Halloween so the boys went trick or treating with my dad. 2 weeks before Thanksgiving Dylan got a ticklish tummy which turned painful which sent us to the ER and finally to surgery to have his appendix removed!
He was a trooper! He didn't cry when they took his blood at 5 am, or when they gave him his IV. He wasn't scared when he was lying on the bed in the hall waiting to go in for surgery! His doctor was awesome, he talked to Dylan and made him comfortable. He barely cried over any pain and he had to be hurting, the doctor said his appendix was really bad. I was so proud of him and we were in the hospital, all together with the ER time, less then 24 hours! He got up and walked a couple hours after surgery, didn't try to milk it at all. Once we got him fixed we had two more weeks of him being at home and bored out of his mind! (Mommy is no fun to hang out with I guess!!)
Thanksgiving was cold but yummy. We went to Shannon's dad's house again. Lots of good people too! Dylan got his stitches out on the 2nd of Dec and could finally go back to school. Then a week later Deven woke up with symptoms of a bladder infection so they put him on Bactrim...... bad idea. That Friday, after his last dose of meds he went to school, was fine till school ended. His cheeks started to get red, then a bit bumpy. We thought it was the cold.... he got into pj's and we could finally see his neck, he'd been in a turtle neck all day. He had what looked like measles all the way down his body and then his cheeks and lips started to swell! He is allergic, the doctor we saw for the allergy thinks he was overdosed on the Bactrim since he is soooo small and that's a really powerful drug. Anyways Benadryl was prescribed and he is getting better and better. Still has a few spots but they are fading!
What is sad is when I went in yesterday for a possible sinus infection, the doctor working the urgent care, and the receptionist know us.... they were asking about Dylans appendectomy (Dr. took out his stitches) and checking Deven's rash (Dr. saw him for the allergic reaction) and my ears (Dr. has seen me at least 3 times for ear infections). I told him I was going to get a job there so they could pay me to be there instead of my paying them all the time!!!
We all seem relatively healthy at the moment. I am still waiting for my sinus to get back to normal but at least there was no active infection. I am hoping the new year brings less medical problems and a new job for me. Truthfully I think if I had been picked I would have heard already today though.
The kids are excited for Christmas. They can barely sit still. They are cranky and wound up and tired. It has been a couple of late nights this week and class parties and staying late for the Santa Shop I held at the Kindergarten. Rest sounds really nice right about now! Tomorrow the boys are going to help my dad decorate their Christmas tree while Tim and I finally get started on our Christmas shopping and we hope to come home with another car so we don't have to share anymore!!
We hope that you all are having a great holiday season so far! We are excited for ours!! Merry Christmas to all 2 of you that read this!!! LOL :D
