Yesterday we got our first taste of Winter! We had snow flurries in the morning, rain in the early afternoon and Hail in the early evening! The kids had a blast running out side trying to catch snowflakes that melted as soon as they touched anything. We went for a drive. We needed to stock up on some items at Sam's Club so we took the back roads and watched the snow swirl around us. By the time we were done shopping the snow was also done for the day!
Early yesterday morning my grandparents went to my mom's house so that they could see on on the video cam. It was the first time we have seen my grandparents since 2 days before we left California. The kids were so excited to see Papa and Grandma Bev they could hardly sit still. Grandma is going in to have surgery on her knee tomorrow and wanted to see the boys before then, just in case. I get my being a worry wart from her!
Saturday was a lot of fun, We talked to my mom on the video cam in the morning and sat around for awhile and then I convinced Tim to go for a "drive". We chose to head toward Muncie, one direction we really haven't explored yet. It was a nice drive, I even hopped on a highway! Been awhile since I have been on anything so close to a freeway like the 69. Ball State University is in Muncie so we drove around the outside of campus looking at all the beautiful buildings. We are going back to take pictures one day, when its not so dark, and rainy! The kids liked the ride, especially driving back in the dark and we stopped at Cracker Barrel in Marion. We had been in the car for a while by then and needed to stretch our legs and our stomachs!
Sunday evening Tim and I made Oatmeal Raisin cookies, yummy! Our hand mixer broke just as we got started so Tim got to mix everything the old fashioned way ;)!!! All in all, except for a flooding toilet that is leaking into the downstairs bath, we are enjoying every minute of our weekends!
