First day of School!

Today is Dylan's very first day as a first grader in Miss.Wards class and Deven starts Pre-school in Mrs. Tresslar's class in 2 hours! I can't believe my kids are so big and only getting bigger by the moment. Deven's feet are only about 1/2 size smaller then Dylan even though he is still a couple of inches shorter and about 20 lbs lighter. Both were very exctied today. Dylan was putting his school stuff in his desk before he even sat at it! Deven keeps asking me... "is it time yet mommy? 15 more minutes mommy?" Every 10 minutes or so.
Dylan is starting the school year minus his two front teeth. He lost on right after mom left in early June and lost the other one about a week ago, it makes for a great lopsided grin!

Dylan also has two more bottom teeth loose. If this keeps up he's gonna be gummin his food soon!

Deven is getting to be more independent. He was a little shy...ok a lot shy.... meeting his teacher the other day but he is very excited to start. He liked the classroom and loves carrying his backpack around. He is in the afternoon class so I have from 12:30- 3 to myself to get things done.

On another note, I got hired to be the Parent Liaison at Deven's school. I am in charge of getting together with parents, explaining the parent organization to them and getting them involved. Doing a lot of what I was doing last year, setting up fundraisers and movie night and field day and so on but I get to make more decisions, take care of the budget and so on and I get paid for it! Not a lot, but something is better then nothing and I really wanted this before I knew you were paid for it so for me it's just a bonus! I also turned in my application today for teachers aide, secretary substitute and teacher substitute so lets keep our fingers crossed that I can pick up enough work to help us through this winter and get a new, used, car!!! These opportunities are helping me get my foot in the door so hopefully next year I can get hired on full time in some capacity!
