4th of July

So I am a few days behind, but I have good reason! I have been exhausted since the 3rd because of the parties and then the Mexico Community yard sale and then they boys came down with Summer colds!!! So lets get started!
4th of July we went to John Michael's house for a party and to watch the city's fireworks display. The kids had a blast playing on the trampoline.


There were a few other kids to play with, a swing set and lots of laughter! We spent the evening with Shannon's family from her dad's side.

The family was very nice! I had met most of them before and they included us in everything with no reservations! We had a great time. They had a game set up that reminded me of horse shoes, we weren't sure the object of the game besides throwing the balls and getting them to wrap around the bars. No idea about the point system but it was fun and a great game for jokes!

Tim, Shannon, Johnny, Dad and I all had fun learning to handle our balls and getting the rhythm for the right swing! LOL

About 10:30 the fireworks across the street started, it was a wonderful show.


But not before Johnny brought out the three foot sparklers for the boys!!!

The show lasted about 30 minutes and the boys were so thrilled. You could hear them screaming out, "Fire Cannon one", then two, then three and so on!

We had our own fireworks show courtesy of Johnny (Shannon's brother),and John Michael (our host). When we left about 11:30 the kids were in tears but we finally got them out of there and home. We gave them a half hour to relax and calm down and them finally put them to bed! It was a long wonderful day!
