A new path

I know I owe some pictures and descriptions of the past few days, especially from today's wanderings, but I want to tell you about a decision Tim and I came to today. Since I am in the taking leaps mode I figured this would be a good time to try on a old hat and see how far I can go with it.
Many of you know of my desire to become a police officer. You also know that I was a Military Police officer and I wanted to go active duty but because of a knee injury my plans were stalled. I have given my knee the past few years to heal and though I still have some problems they are minimal and getting better. For the next year I am going to take steps to get back into shape so that sometime next year I can go to the academy. Fortunately out here the academy is not a live in academy, I will be home every night and some weekends. If this works out then Tim can quit his job and work on getting his EMT or nursing certification.
I might not make it and I may chicken out in the next year, though I don't plan on it and I really don't think so. I would love to make it to a detective and even though being a cop out here has it's own hazards they are not as high as back home in California. Plus out here, most cops get to take their cars home with them!!!!
I have wanted this for a long time and I hope making this decision will give me the motivation to try. A year will give me the time to get into shape, make adjustments in our life style and get Deven in Kindergarten. That is another thing, I will also be taking into consideration the impact on Dylan and Deven's life. Tim always wanted to be a cop and had actually started the Sheriff's academy at one point so I know he will be supportive and as he said tonight a little jealous!
