Well last time I wrote it was about Dylan getting sick. Since that post Deven and I have both gotten sick and now Tim seems to be catching it too! Deven got sick first on Friday. He threw up after I made him scrambled eggs for dinner. Both boys still had the sniffles Saturday and Sunday but no more upchucking my dinners! Sunday I was tired and cranky and I had told my dad we would come visit so I ended up going myself since the boys were still technically sick. I spent an hour at dad's chatting then we went to Cooley's where Shannon is working. BY then I was feeling really worn out, I just wanted to lay my head down and go to sleep. I spent another hour there, had two drinks and then decided I needed to go home. Tim had dinner waiting for me. I came in sat down and it hit me. All of a sudden I felt horrible!
Well I went to bed early and when I woke up Monday morning I wasn't feeling any better but it wasn't any worse so I got up and went to Dylan's school to volunteer like I had signed up for. Standing outside in the cool morning air plastering a smile on my face as I held open the front door and said good morning to all the students that walked in actually helped bolster my spirits and so I was feeling better. That evening Tim's work called and said it was light and he didn't need to come in so he was home to help. I was 100% so the help was really nice. Again I went to bed early. The boys seemed to be doing great, just some sniffles and a cough but otherwise good to go. Tuesday morning I woke up and felt like I had been hit by a Mack truck and then the driver jumped out and shoved something up my nose! I can not remember the last time I was the sick and it wasn't the stomach flu! Anyways Tim took Dylan to school while I slept. I got up at 11 and still felt bad so I took a shower...no help. Tim had to go to sleep since he was working that night and so I laid on the couch watching House. Thankfully it was Deven's nap time too.
I picked Dylan up from school, it was all the energy I had. It was Open House and I couldn't make it! Tim was great and took the boys to open house for me. He talked to Dylan's teacher, to let her know about all the moving we have done lately, though Tim says Mrs. Thompson didn't really seem receptive. Dylan's class sang a song and they all had made cards for their parents. Tim met Holly, she is a mom of one of the little girls in Dylan's class that he talks about frequently. She seems very nice, she always has a smile when she sees me and we have talked briefly a couple of times. I was hoping Tim would meed Trayden's mom, that is the other kid Dylan always talks about.
When they got back, as soon as they walked in the door Deven started crying and doubling over. He kept saying his tummy hurt. Tim said he didn't show any signs at the school but her was Tiny in pain. I picked him up and rocked him keeping his knees to his chest. For about 35 minutes he just squirmed in pain, sometimes I held him sometimes he was laying on the couch. I just kept waiting and finally I heard his stomach, so I picked him up and ran him to the bathroom. He only threw up the once and afterward he was still uncomfortable but he fell asleep in my arms for about 10 minutes and we he woke up the pain was gone!
He seems to be better today, he is eating well and barely any sniffles. I feel much better myself, just weak. Tim on the other hand seems to be at the beginning of all this! Unfortunately when you move to a new state this happens even more then when the kids start school. Our immune systems are geared to California's virus strains and bacterial strains so our immune systems are still trying to adapt so this will probably be a bad year for colds, hopefully that means when Deven starts school we will all be past that!!!!
