Economy

The economy sucks right now and we are feeling the pinch! Tim's job is not as "full time" as we were told. Trucking, like everything else is slowing down. My going back to work would be a huge help but I don't have family here that can watch Deven and paying for daycare would kill any paycheck I made. My hours are not flexible because of Tim's hours which makes me a bad candidate for a job on top of the fact that there aren't really many jobs available. I am so thankful Tim has a job and the money is, for the most part, covering bills. Food is going on the credit card though, more often then not and to get prepared for a real winter we had jackets and thermals and gloves and beanies and such to buy so our savings is dwindled.

We have been here before. Even with FedEx Freight, November-March was slow and always hurt us. I wish we were more stable but we have each other and I need to remind myself that though money makes the world go round it doesn't need to make our moods elliptical! Some days are harder then others though, like payday. Not being strong in faith gives me pause at times like these. Since meeting Tim I have been wavering on my beliefs. Looking at and trying to understand who and what GOD is and means and some days I wish I had that all figured out, then I feel bad because I am reaching out in times of need, not in my everyday life.

We have been playing games, the kids have monopoly Jr and puzzles, Tim and I have scrabble and Monopoly and life. We just got the Harry Potter edition of Clue and I am excited to set that up and give it a try. We are more aware of the electricity we use and have been trying to cut back on that also. I have never been good at budget meals but I think I need to find some recipes! And face it, Tim is just going to have to learn to eat leftovers, potato's (which he likes but never wants with dinner!) and he might even have to learn to eat veggies!

Beside making long lasting budget meals, what do you do to cut back on spending?
