Early this week we had a pretty good snow fall, at least two inches of accumulation. After I picked up Dylan from school we came home, got daddy all bundled up and had our first ever snow ball fight! I took pictures until Dylan got me in the face with a snowball, and then I put the camera away and joined in on the fun!
Today we picked up our Christmas tree. Tim and I, because of our cats, have never gotten a real tree together! So we took the kids to K-Mart and got a 7 foot, I think its a blue spruce for $44! It was the first tree we saw,(I did make us walk around the lot and look at others). We had gone into K-mart to get bungee cords to strap the tree to the top of the van. Once we got home we set it in the tree stand and realized that one of the lower branches they left on was way to low and wouldn't let us set the tree in the stand right. Well we don't have a saw and I wasn't about to use my knives so Tim thought maybe he could cut through it with the claw of our hammer.....
That didn't work so well! It did make a good enough cut, in the one blow Tim got in, that we were able to break the rest of the branch off. We finally got it settled in and stood up and then we worked on making it straight.
The kids were so excited and we had gone to get the tree at their rest time, so after all that they were overly emotional so we sent them up to their room. We told them if they rested quietly they would get to decorate the tree today. Well they weren't quiet so this is as far as we have gotten today...
That is OK though, we forgot to grab the last box of Christmas stuff that we are storing at my dads and that has most of our ornaments in it. Tomorrow we are going visiting over there so I can get those and we can really get into the Christmas spirit!
