We have one week, 7 days and a handful of hours to get our act together. To get gifts, bake cookies, make fudge and try to have fun with it all! I long for a Christmas that isn't about gift and food. I can deal with the tree and the movies, but trying to go shopping with a 4 year old, who sees everything is very difficult. I had bought a book for Tim and hid it in the boys bedroom, in a box under a ton of stuff that isn't toys and that they never touch. At least they never did before, but last night Dylan came downstairs, holding Tim's gift! So I made Tim put it in his stocking. LOL
On top of all of this, last night we got a couple inches of snow and then freezing rain so Tim stayed home. They didn't have a trailer for him to take to Indianapolis, so he would have been pulling an empty, not a good thing. There were a ton of accidents last night and even though we could use the money, I felt better knowing he was safe.
School wasn't postponed this morning, though a lot of schools were delayed two hours. It is still weird to me, that school would start late because of weather. I think school was cancelled once for me, because of high winds and never postponed, but that's what California is all about!
So for the final kicker, I have a cold. My throat is killing me, I am trying to get stuffy, I am achy and I just want to close my eyes and go to sleep. Tim isn't feeling well either and the boys have been coughing on and off all week. We have two days left before school break and we can sleep in! Hopefully this cold doesn't linger and goes away before Christmas Eve. Gotta feel good when watching Muppet Christmas Carol!
