California Days

So Spring is here, though it feels a bit like Summer to me. The temp outside says 84but with no clouds it feels more like 90! We went and had the car washed today, the boys love going, we always get something to drink and they get to wander around while we wait. The manager was there today so instead of the usual 45 min it only took 20!
The boys behaved so well I decided we would hit "Green park" ( the boys have re-named all the parks they go to). There was a slight breeze and except for the playground toys there was plenty of shade to relax in. A few other kids were there so the boys had someone to play with. The boys played for awhile, running up the slides and trying to teach the younger kids how to. They tried to include all the kids in there games. I finally consented and we took a walk to the old bridge the city had out in. We crossed the bridge and walked among the small Orange grove. We watched lizards run around and hide in their holes. There were plenty of birds wandering around looking for insects and in the back is a little sewer run off. The kids went over and sat on a rock and watched the water run over the rock bed. We walked back, taking a different path. When we got back to the playground all the kids had left. Soon though a mom and her toddler and baby showed up. Her little boy had brought a vinyl orange ball. The boys asked if they could play so the three of them played catch and soccer and then my boys played keep away from the little boy! Well I ended that quickly and the kids started playing nice again. Deven and I swung on the swings. He sits in my lap, the swings still intimidate him. We swung for while and then he went back to playing ball. When the kids were throughly red in the face I decided it was time to hit the van and crank the AC. They drank their juice and then we Headed to Stater Bros. After a quick run through there we came home, had some lunch and now its bedtime!

It has been a sweet day, spending time with my boys that I miss out on having to work 3 days a week. Usually I am so tired on my days off that we play puzzles and such at home, but it was nice to get out today and enjoy the good weather!
