Beware~

So this weekend was more of a laid back weekend. Tim left for work at 6pm Friday night and didn't get home till 9:30 am Saturday morning and was exhausted! So he slept and I was going to take the boys to Chuck E Cheeses but Deven threw a huge tantrum, I mean Screaming at me, and had to be punished. Once that was done I realized I had no desire to go in public with the two of them so we watched a movie and then Deven and I took a nap while Dylan, who was the golden child that morning, laid quietly for an hour then got up and listened to his CD player.
Tim got up around 3 and still wasn't feeling well but we decided to go for a drive. We drove south towards Indianapolis, through Kokomo. About 15 miles after Kokomo I took a left turn off the highway and we drove back roads. We found a really nice small town called Tipton. It has a population of just over 5,000 and tree lined streets. The house lots are small but the homes were very nice and pretty well kept up. The jail was a beautiful brick building that looked kind of like a Victorian. We are going to go back and take some pictures so that I can post them. We had forgotten the camera.
Tipton had a nice downtown area and a BBQ place that smelled wonderful. They also had a huge cemetery, we drove real slow and read headstones. There area train tracks nearby, but there is everywhere around here! Tim still wasn't feeling good and he had a coffee that didn't help. We also stopped by at Tipton Dairy Queen and got him a sprite.
We left Tipton making random turns. There were some beautiful homes out there. Lots of open space with a smattering of homes here and there. We drove over some train tracks that are on a small hill. When we got over them we went left and I saw a mailbox up ahead on the left, right next to the train tracks. Across from the mailbox was fields of corn as far as you could see, (and out here you can see pretty darn far!). So we get closer and I see a couple more mail boxes down the road. Just as we get up to the mail box the road we were on had risen a bit and you could see a drive way that went over the train tracks and came down on the other side, went about 200 feet and there was a house!!!!!! Driving down the street their must have been 8 other houses set up the same way!!!!!!! I could not live that close to train tracks, NEVER! Especially with kids! Wow
So we kept going and went through Windfall, a teeny tiny spit of a town. Very depressed town, not a place we would want to live. Then Tim had to go to the bathroom and this town is so small there was no place to stop, so Tim pulled out the GPS to get us back to the 19, a main road, to find a place to stop. Poor Tim had to go and couldn't wait. We were surrounded by corn fields and there were cars passing us so we waited till we saw a grove of trees by the road.
It wasn't a very big grove, maybe half a football field. We parked across the road and Tim jumped out. There were bugs everywhere so I kept the windows up. The trees were pretty thin in the front and so Tim walked a little ways in. He took care of businesses, it didn't take long and came back out slapping at himself the whole time. He was shaking his shirt and using his hands to brush his hair. He jumped in the van looking miserable and told me that he had stepped on some mosquito home. They had been all over him while he was "using the facilities". I don't think they were happy to have him there, or maybe the blood hungry beasts were happy for a warm meal!
We started driving back home, at this point Tim just wanted a shower. He was still tired and worn down and this didn't help at all! We had to stop at the gas station for ice and smokes and a restroom break, the boys had to go all of a sudden. We got home and the boys were tired and cranky, Tim was cranky cause he wasn't feeling well and I was cranky, well cause it had been a long week. Tim took his shower, we checked him for ticks then put Deven to bed. Dad called and ask if I wanted to meet him and Shannon and Cooley's, they knew I was at the end of my rope with the kids this week and so Tim told me to go ahead and go.
I went over and had a drink, chatted with them and the bar tender a bit. For the most part we were the only people in the bar. It was fun and when we got home we sat on the back patio. Tim was already asleep. I crept into bed about 12:30 and, fully relaxed, passed out!
Tim slept till 11 am Sunday morning and so after he woke up we figured a walk would be good. We walked around the neighborhood and chatted. We let the kids decide where we were going to go. We came up to Blockbuster and got our new cards and rented a couple of things. When we got back I started dinner and Tim and Dad chatted on the patio.
We were amazed at how few bites Tim got. He had one on his neck, one on his arm and two on his leg. There was 3 small ones on his forehead, but not bad. Till this morning that is! He has over 50 bites on his arms and legs. He was wearing short as usual so they had lots of skin and a couple of them looked like the mosquitoes were on a date, you can tell it was two bites right next to each other! They are big and red and angry looking and he itch's. We bought him chamomile lotion and Benadryl Spray. He is not happy and still not feeling so good.
On a good note though work had picked up considerably and so he will be working all week long for sure!
The moral of this story, if you can't hold it, don't go into the woods!!!
