So today was a much better day with Dylan! He listened more, he even helped dad and I in the back yard by pulling weeds. Deven on the other hand was more defiant today, he wasn't interested in listening and he didn't take a nap so at this point in the evening he has about had it. I have put in a Bug's Life and gave them ice cream cones so they are quiet.....for now!
So as I was eating dinner upstairs, Dad and Shannon and Isaiah ate downstairs, the boys ate earlier and Tim had to be into work early, Dylan brought to my attention the his other bottom front tooth is loose!!! The new tooth for the one he lost on his birthday is starting to pop up just a bit so we should have a nice gap toothed smile soon!!! It is actually pretty loose already. He is sooooo excited and in a little bit we are going to call grandma and grandpa and Omi! I still need to get a hold of Tim to tell him.
Tim has worked everyday this week!! Not a full not always but he has had work everyday and tonight he has to go to Ft.Wayne then up to Lansing MI, another state to add to his list! Lucky him! I am not so sure he thinks he is lucky to go at night and for work, but that is one of those things that we see a bit differently. I would love to go for any reason, just to see and be able to say I had been there!
Shannon made dinner tonight, Steak strips in a nice, sweet marinade, shells and cheese, the cheese sauce she made is DEVINE! A yellow pepper, cucumber and onion salad, not sure about the dressing and peas! She makes peas a lot, good thing I like them :)!
Dad had the day off today, a "mental health day" as he put it. He has a screened in porch off the back of the house and its old.
A lot of the base boards for the frame are rotted out but most of the rest of the beams are fine. Today dad removed the base beams from the South and East side of the porch. He had cut and painted their replacements so I helped him put them in. It was a little tricky because they were the base boards so he had to hold up the vertical support beams while I used a block and hammer to fit the new base boards into place. The south side supports were sagging for a while now because of the rot of the base boards so that side to some finessing but we got it! The East side was easier but the cement isn't level so that created a bit of a problem, nothing dad and I couldn't handle! :D. Just as were finished putting in the last board the ran came and it came steady and hard for about 15 minutes. It was nice and a good light wind came with it to help cool us off. Tim had woken up towards the end of our project and helped us a bit and then we sat around and enjoyed the break mother nature had given us!
So Tim is off to work, Deven in more then ready for bed time and Dylan is as excited as could be. I am going to go work some more on my new cross stitch project. Maybe this one I can actually finish!!!!
